How big of a problem is apostasy.
by joe134cd ini often wonder if apostasy could be defined as the "silent problem", as the majority who leave for this reason choose to fade saying nothing.
in all the decades i was a witness i could probably count on 2 hands those who were disfellowshipped for apostasy.i must admit it wasn't until i came on the internet that i fully realise the depth and extent of the problem.
i think of that young girl high school speech that went viral, and you can't tell me all those 300000+ views were all none jws.

So long as there is one person who is honest with themselves and leaves the Org and branded an apostate, there are many in the minds of the indoctrinated JW. -

WHY DO ONLY A FEW START TO QUESTION DOCTRINE CHANGES AND NOT EVERYONE?
by disillusioned 2 inthere are many on here who state specific changes in wt publications have caused them to start questioning (understandably you would think), and yet the majority don't.
why is it only a few individuals that do this?
curious as to what others think about this.

The same people who accept the authority of the GB will question the government, the medical establishment and more. They are willing to recognize the foibles of those institutional authorities as conspiracy or malice, but the GB can lead them to an early death via blood madness and they cry more! They think they have found a reliable authority to submit their will to and so they continue no matter what. Its down to ego and change avoidance. Better to be a janitor who holds the knowledge of "the Truth" than one who simply is sweeping till he dies like everyone else. -

Yes, even though it can be lonely at times, but better feeling lonely now and then rather than thinking I am not lonely with two faced religious zealots who will knife you in a second if you don't agree it didn't rain before the flood or some other truth that will turn on a dime. Idiots. -

I have had witnesses call me a liar when I used to point out to them that Russell believed that the anointed must die a sacrificial death and that their death had some weight towards the forgiveness of sins, that it completed Christ's sacrifice. I had read it myself and wondered what the hell that was all about. It all went back to establishing that the Bible was ONLY for the anointed because they must die a sacrificial death. This is one of the cracks in the exterior of the facade that was a wake up call for me. Oddly enough I agree with Barbour now, a fly with a pin in it, yep. -

"Make a list of people you want to meet in the New System!" (New September Watchtower)
by FusionTheism inwatchtower september 2015 study edition, "stand firm in the faith," paragraphs 16 and 17:.
following jesus example, we must read the bible daily, study it, and meditate on what we learn.
along with general bible study, dig into topics about which you may have questions.. you can imitate jesus by meditating on the wonderful promises jehovah has made to you.

Everyone who dies gets to come back right? They paid for their sins right? The problem is, this whole "resurrection" business is bullshit. Evil people like Stalin, Hitler and Jeffrey Dahmer come back but my own worldly family would be put down like rabid dogs at the big "A"? Where's the fairness? Keep your paradise world full of scum like these. I'm not that fond of Pandas.

Wanted to Share a Watchtower Quote with you
by FusionTheism injust thought this was interesting and wanted to see all of your thoughts and opinions on it.. watchtower, november 15, 2014, simplified study edition, pages 11-12:.
9 let us examine the words of three brothers who for many years have worked closely with members of the governing body.
one brother mentioned: while this has indeed been a unique privilege of service, the close association has from time to time revealed that, although spirit anointed, these brothers are imperfect.

They are trying to patch the dam that is breaking. If they can negate this they can set precedent against these sort of suits. They have to make it about the 1st amendment so they can use it nation wide. They are the lowest form of pond scum.

Ok you can start hating me now. Did she speak with those women personally or were they people on a forum that she never met in person? We all know that every story on a forum is accurate. Can one congregation have all that drama? If so it would be so sad. Though I agree with her premise, the info is one sided and I think people should have the chance to defend themselves. Hope it motivates someone to think twice, but I'm not buying every word as from a reliable source. -

Do You Remember The Days When The Society Would Say Everything Pictured Something About Them?😇
by minimus inwhen you look at the society's literature, it is pretty comical to see how important they believed they were.
it seems to be not as bad under the new regime but they certainly believe they are a special people.

Trumpets are conventions and horses are either literature or people. I truly found it amazing. Wasn't it just last week it was like that? Changed fast when the new GB took over. It was the drumming of 1919 into ever story in Revelation that made me throw up in my mouth often. Always went forward, what a dupe. -

I am in the US but Graham Norton hands down. Thanks BBC America. He treats his guests with respect and not worship. Having them on the couch at the same time is the best. Steve Allen was my favorite American host.
